Amid a COVID spike, the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry on Saturday instructed staffers to practise a special immunity-boosting yogic posture mastered by Spiritual Guru Jaggi Vasudev.

During the official announcement, the ministry described the Simha Yogic Kriya, practised by Jaggi Vasudev, as "very powerful, in the current challenging times, of an upsurge of COVID-19 cases", and asked them to follow the same.

The official letter by the under-secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said: "Following up on this address to all officers and staff of the ministry, and its organisations, on April 13, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development has shared a link to a YouTube video by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. It is a very powerful Simha Yogic Kriya, in the current challenging times, of an upsurge in Covid-19 cases. This kriya strengthens one's respiratory and immune systems and prepares one to deal with the present crisis in a positive manner. It requires only a few minutes of one’s time and needs to be done on an empty stomach.”

Further, the official order urges the staff to "follow all instructions in the video very carefully to be benefited” and adds, “All officers and staff members (including staff car drivers, contractual staff) may please see the video, practice the kriya and be benefited.

Needless to say, all must follow the instructions very carefully and follow them to boost their immunity, says the order signed by NK Sinha, ministry under-secretary.
